What is Uno?
A digital take on the popular card game, Uno does what it says on the tin. The object of the game here is to be the first one to plonk all your cards down - but you can only put a card down that's either the same colour, or the same number as the one that came before it. Make sure you shout Uno before putting your last card down (by pressing a button), or your opponents can challenge you, and you'll have to draw two cards!
How do you play Uno?
Uno offers a variety of rule options to help tailor the game to your preference. You can turn on Stacking, which means that players who find themselves falling foul of a Draw Two card can simply play another Draw Two card, passing on an even bigger penalty to the next player, or 7-0, which lets you either swap hands upon playing a 7, or pass hands around upon playing a 0, while a Rabbids themed deck brings with it a variety of new, and wacky Rabbids themed cards.
Along with single player, which lets you face off against computer opponents in random, one off games, there's also a co-op mode, which lets you and a friend locally (or online) take on either computer controlled opponents, or real players across the globe, while the online mode lets you face off against up to three other players online.
How easy is Uno to pick up and play?
With nothing in the way of a difficulty level, what you see is what you get with Uno, and if you can't beat the computer players, the only option is to simply get good through persistence. The computer players aren't exactly a pushover - although as Uno is mostly a game of luck, you should manage to at least squeeze out the odd win. However, a large part of the focus of the game is playing online against either friends, or random opponents, and how tricky you find the online mode largely depends on who you're playing against.
As a card game, there's nothing in the way of swearing, sex or violence in Uno. While the game does have a multiplayer mode that supports video chat, the game will only let you see the video, and hear chat from people who are on your friends list, helping remove any stranger danger.
