As one of the big players in the karaoke game scene, it's surprising that Sony waited so long to release a SingStar title for the Playstation 4. Since its inception on the Playstation 2, there's been more than two dozen entries, as well as thousands of extra downloadable songs to expand the later games and keep you singing for longer. Finally making its Playstation 4 debut (and it's better late that never), SingStar: Ultimate Party promises a crowd-pleaser of a song list once more, with more of the simple pick-up-and-play karaoke fun we've come to know and love over the years.

The ace up SingStar: Ultimate Party's sleeve is that, unlike previous entries, you don't necessarily have to have enough USB microphones to go round (although, with support for only two players, you're unlikely to struggle anyway) - instead, you can download the SingStar smartphone companion app to turn your mobile into a makeshift mic!

As with the Playstation 3 iterations, Sony are promising a wealth of extra downloadable tracks to expand your game (at extra cost), and keep the karaoke party going all night long - but in a nice twist, many of the songs you've downloaded on the PS3 versions can be brought into Singstar: Ultimate Party free of charge. Be sure to check out your Purchase History section in the game for more!

Singstar Ultimate Party is just one of a music and dancing game revival that's seen a spate of recent releases, and a wide range of games to take your pick from. Here's the soundtracks and song lists for a bevvy of recent music games, so you can compare and contrast:
