If you're a regular reader of this site, you'll know we can't get enough of the LEGO games. Having got stuck into Lego Lord of the Rings, polished our bat-suit in Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes, and with Lego City Undercover due in the next few months, our Lego schedule was already looking nicely packed - and now, another new Lego game's been unveiled, in the form of Lego Marvel Super Heroes.

Shut up and take my money!

Looking set to bring the Lego games' trademark blend of slapstick humour, simple puzzles and, well, smashing stuff, to Marvel's finest, Lego Marvel Super Heroes is shaping up to be one to keep an eye on - even if it doesn't have the catchiest of names. Much like Lego Batman 2, the game has it's own original not-based-on-a-film story to play through in which Nick Fury calls on the help of various Marvel heroes, including Iron Man, Spiderman and Wolverine, to save the universe from the threats of Loki and Galactus, Devourer of the Worlds. As of the moment we have no idea what the pair are planning, although rumours suggest Loki has been imprisoned and unable to return to Asgard – reaching out to an as yet unknown Marvel villain to form an alliance...

The hub of your adventures will be a Lego-ified version of New York City, complete with well-known landmarks like the Statue of Liberty, Times Square and Stark Tower, with levels set to take you across the entire planet - and beyond. It looks like there'll be no shortage of characters to play as either, with over a hundred different heroes from across the Marvel Universe, with the likes of Wolverine, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Deadpool, Loki and Galactus, as well as a huge twice-the-size-of-everyone-else plasticky version of everyone's favourite green giant, The Hulk. As always, each character will have their own unique abilities you'll need to use to solve puzzles – we're imagining you'll be able to take to the skies as Iron Man, smash everything as the Hulk and use Spiderman's webs to stick to walls.

Swooping onto the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, Wii U, DS, 3DS and PS Vita, Lego Marvel Super Heroes assembles just in time for the release of Iron Man 3 later this year. As time goes on, we're sure more details will trickle out – so make sure you keep checking back.
