LEGO Jurassic World gets a release date and trailer
25th May, 2015 By Everybody Plays Staff

The good people at Warner Brothers and Travellers Tales have been busy on Isla Nubular lately, putting the finishing bricks into the new LEGO Jurassic World trailer - a two player, co-op adventure game that may well be the last traditional LEGO game, in the run up to the launch of the Skylanders-alike LEGO Dimensions. The latest in the long list of LEGO themed titles, following on from Star Wars, Batman, Marvel Super Heroes, Harry Potter, and much more, LEGO Jurassic World will hit almost every system known to man (PlayStation4, PlayStation3, PS Vita, Xbox One, Xbox 360, WiiU, 3DS and PC) on June 12th 2015, giving would be Sam Neills and Chris Pratts of the world the opportunity to make their way through LEGO recreations of the 4 blockbusters films (well 2 blockbusters, 1 almost certain blockbuster and Jurassic Park 3...).

For those of you unfamiliar with the delights of the 1993 masterpiece and it's sequels (which vary in quality), Jurassic Park/World is set in a world where science has managed to clone dinosaurs from DNA found in preserved insects. Millionaire John Hammond (the late and great Richard Attenborough) then builds a theme park around these creatures before the predictable disaster happens. After a gap of 14 years since the (unnecessary) third movie in the series, a third sequel fronted by Guardians of the Galaxy star Chris Pratt is about to hit big screens nationwide.

The trailer itself helps showcase the vital elements you've come to expect from the Lego series. With the same award winning co-op gameplay we've come to know and love (perfect for kids and big kids alike), plenty of brick building, puzzle solving and a pleasing degree of accuracy to the source material (in particular here the first sighting of the dinosaurs in the original film is wonderfully recreated), there's the same all important dose of slapstick LEGO humour, too - so even those who're unfamiliar with the films can have fun.

With original voice sampling (and, of course, that music) ensuring a familiar experience for those of us of a certain age, and with over 100 playable characters promised, including 20+ dinosaurs (yes - playable dinosaurs!), there's certainly plenty of variety on offer. Although how exactly a T-Rex is planning to build with those tiny little arms escapes me!As usual, those of us who choose to early adopt and lay down the money for a pre-order can expect exclusive benefits. On offer for GAME customers is a LEGO Jurassic World Gallimimus Trap playset, while Amazon.co.uk is able to offer a Dr. Henry Wu Minifigure, who bears more than a passing resemblance to B.D. Wong!

Dino trap or Dr. Wu - the choice is yours.

With just a few weeks to go until the game's release, anticipation is reaching a fever pitch here at Everybody Plays - you can join in the excitement with us by taking a gander at the trailer below. Oh, and hug a dinosaur!
