Everybody Plays is expanding - and as General Pepper once said, "We need your help", Starfox!
From its humble beginnings two years ago, Everybody Plays was formed out of a desire to do something different with a games website, offering a place for the "rest of us" to call home. Tired of reading endless analysis of generic shooter number 156, while other, more interesting games were put on the back burner, the time seemed right for a website that took a different approach - a site that put the fun first, and that everyone could enjoy, whether they've been playing for years, or are just picking up a controller for the first time. With new features, sections, and groundbreaking ideas waiting in the wings, Everybody Plays is ready to take things to the next level - and we'd love you to help us get there.
We're currently looking to take on a selection of new writers, to help across every part of the site, from writing news and reviews, to offering opinion pieces, to going on press trips to experience new games before anyone else, and telling the world all about it.
If this were a regular job description, this would probably be where we'd write about what qualities our ideal writer would possess, but actually, with a site like ours, there's no one ideal writer we're looking for. We're called Everybody Plays for a reason, and that's because we strive to cover games from as broad a range of perspectives as possible - so whether you're a Bejewelled addict, a point and click wizard, a Mario master, or, like us, you'll happily play anything and everything you can get your hands on, there could be a place waiting for you! In fact, the only specific type of writer we'd be especially eager to hear from would be parents, who're interested in writing about their family's experiences with games for the site - helping other parents find games their kids will enjoy is a huge part of what we're about.
Whether you only have time to write an article once a month, or can get through several a day, we'd love to hear from you. No experience is necessary - all we're looking for is the ability to write, and the ability to write well. To begin with, any position will be on a voluntary basis, although contributors will have periodic access to early review copies and industry events.
If you'd be interested in applying, please send an email to writers{at}everybodyplays.co.uk
Thanks, and we look forward to hearing from you!
