Parent's Guide

Just Dance: Disney Party is a dancing game that combines the magic of Disney with the accessible dancing fun of the Just Dance games, letting you dance along to some of your favourite Disney songs from films old and new, along with a few tunes from the TV shows. With songs like 'The Bear Necessities', 'Under The Sea' and 'Everybody Wants to be a Cat', there's plenty for family film fans to sink their teeth into, while tweens will appreciate the selection of songs from Hannah Montana and High School Musical. Aimed squarely at children, many of the songs have much simpler choreographies designed with the younger child in mind - songs like 'It's A Small World', 'Following The Leader' from Peter Pan and Tinkerbell's 'Fly To Your Heart' are especially suitable for the very young, while the Disney Channel tunes tend to be a bit more complex, as, like their respective programs, the routines are aimed more towards the older child/early teens.

Like the other Just Dance games, Disney Party is a cinch to pick up and play - all you do is hold a Wii Remote in your right hand, choose a song to play and copy the on-screen pictograms that show you the moves to do. The better you do the moves, the more points you'll get. Letting up to four people play together, there are a selection of multiplayer modes for getting the whole family involved, too - with the standard versus and team battle modes joined by a Simon Says-esque Freeze & Shake where you need to either stand stock still or shake the Wii Remote like your life depends on it for bonus points, and a mode in which a giant balloon is inflated to bursting point, popping to reveal a load of stars which you can collect to earn points. Whichever mode you choose though, the basic premise is the same - dance as well as you can (as Phineas and Ferb might say, as though there's a squirrel in your pants).

While the song list is definitely geared towards younger Disney fans, one of the few problems families may have is that there aren't actually all that many songs - although knowing children's habit for playing the same song, over and over again, it may not be as much of an issue. The simpler choreographies will also likely go down a treat with the younger ones, who've struggled with the main Just Dance series.

Mature Content

Just Dance: Disney Party is designed with kids in mind - featuring songs from the squeaky-clean Disney films and some of the TV shows, there's nothing untoward here at all.
