Everyone loves a good flight sim (especially us), so today, we've got a particularly large smile on our face, as Ubisoft have announced Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 is currently under development by their studio in Bucharest - and, for the first time, the series will be making its way to the Wii.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 "plunges" you into an explosive environment (never a good idea when you're flying), as you take the role of an "elite aerial soldier", in control of the world's most technologically advanced aircraft.

The original H.A.W.X was launched to critical acclaim in 2009,  going on to sell over a million units. Sucking new players in with its addictive blend of high paced, Top Gun style flyboy action and real world locations (flying around Jesus in Rio de Janeiro is always fun) the game was undoubtedly a huge success - due in no small part to its "soft sim" appeal. Letting both novices, and hardcore flyboys step into the cockpit of a plane, H.A.W.X was one of the easiest flight sims to get to grips with if you didn't know your yoke from your ailerons, as it stepped new players through the basics first, before giving them plenty of helping hands in a combat situation.

Painting a series of triangular gates over your screen whenever you got into a battle, which, if you flew through, would bring you out on your enemy's tail, H.A.W.X. went out of its way to help new players ease themselves into the game - and with its four player co-op mode, the game was a blast - if you had the friends.

While we're still awaiting confirmation that the four player co-op mode will be returning, we do know that Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X 2 is set to land on the Wii and Xbox 360 this Autumn. Sadly, rumours of a falconry mode are currently unsubstantiated.
