Update: Shortly after we published this article, Nintendo reversed the discounts, and all games are now back to their expensive norm. If you were one of the lucky ones, congratulations! You really did net a bargain! For the rest of us - disappoint.
We may not be the biggest fan of downloadable games, or even the biggest fan of Nintendo's download pricing policy, but even we know a bargain when we see it.
In a surprise move, Nintendo have today dramatically slashed the prices of some of the downloadable versions of some of their biggest games. Where they used to cost £50 - more than you'd pay if you walked into a shop - a range of games are now available for less than £9 each.

- Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D - £8.95
- Animal Crossing New Leaf, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros - £7.95
- LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins - £6.95

Whatever you do, though, it's probably a good idea to be quick - as it stands, this doesn't seem to be an official Nintendo sale (we've had no notice of it), so it could just be a pricing mishap. Although how that pricing mishap would affect a selection of games that were all released roughly at around the same time is anyone's guess.
