Many a gamer is awaiting the third instalment in the Gears of War series, which is finally due for release in September of this year. The Gears of War series' high octane gameplay has led to it becoming a favourite amongst many a gamer and the cover based shooting system has been praised by many a critic.
The series follows the exploits of Marcus Fenix and his fellow Gears as they battle against an alien menace. Sounds rather cliché we know, but its action based gameplay, solid multiplayer and snappy dialogue between team members has led to it becoming one of the best selling franchises of recent years.
The title also features some top quality voice talent in the form of John DiMaggio (Futurama), Ice T (Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas), and Claudia Black (Rango) and they will now be joined by the man who starred in possibly the funniest advert of the last few years.
That's right, Isaiah Mustafa, better known as "Old Spice Guy" is to make an appearance in Gears of War 3, with Epic's design director joking that "The cast just keeps getting sexier and sexier."
Your new COG ladies and gentlemen...especially ladies.
Indeed it does, but it remains to be seen exactly what role Mustafa will actually have in proceedings. Screenshots show him listed as a character named "COG Gear" and the helmet implies a messy death and little in the way of characterisation is in store for him.
All we know is that if he arrives onto the scene riding a horse it will all have been worth it. Especially if he turns up with some tickets to that thing that we like.

Gears of War 3 is to be released for Xbox 360 on September 20th.
