Just Dance 4 Announced, Along With The First Few Songs

Whoever said nothing in life is certain has apparently never worked in the games industry. Not that we're complaining of course - sometimes it's nice to have a new instalment in your favourite series on a fairly regular basis - especially if your favourite series happens to be Just Dance. Everyone kind of knew it was coming – but now Ubisoft have made the latest sequel official, choosing to open their E3 conference with the unveiling of the sequel to their ever-popular dancing game, the inventively titled Just Dance 4. A load of dancers, accompanied by Flo Rida and the blingy-ist microphone ever, danced to a series of songs – all of which have made it into the first twelve tracks of the forty plus found on the disc:

Just Dance 4 brings with it a brand new Battle Mode, where you and your friends can go head to head over six rounds of dancing battles – and the choreography and music changes during the game, dependent on who's winning or losing. The workout Just Sweat mode also gets a makeover, with a bunch of new workout sessions, personalised programs and a calorie counter, rather than those arbitrary sweat points used in previous games. Perhaps the craziest of the new features is that as you play, you'll unlock alternative dance routines for some of the songs, letting you opt for a faster, more challenging dance, or perhaps a sillier, more outlandish routine, depending on your mood.

Just Dance 4 is set to appear on all the usual suspects – the Wii, Kinect for the Xbox 360, and the Playstation 3's Move, but will also be making it's way to Nintendo's brand new console, the Wii U, complete with funky new modes. Thanks to it's ability to support four Wii Remotes and one person on the Wii U GamePad, Just Dance 4 gets an exclusive five-player Puppet Master Mode. The four players all with Wii Remotes play Just Dance in the same way they have for the previous games, but this time, the fifth player who weilds the Wii U GamePad is able to switch the dance moves around for the other players to follow. They can also capture pictures and videos of everything going on to share online and embarrass their friends.

That's all we know so far – but we'd imagine the remaining thirty-odd tracks will be revealed in the coming weeks, as well as a release date; as it's supposed to be out during the 'launch window' of the Wii U we'll probably be able to make an intelligent guess soon anyway.
