Since it's reveal last year, there's been a steady stream of news on the sequel to the original Epic Mickey game - with added co-op, musical numbers and an improved camera, it's shaping up to be a much bigger and better game than it's predecessor, whilst sharing much of the same themes. In the Power of Two, thanks to its new, added co-op mode, you and a friend join forces as Mickey Mouse, and Oswald the lucky rabbit, as you investigate the mysterious re-appearance of the hitherto assumed dead Mad Doctor, the villain from the original game, who claims to be a reformed man. But as Wasteland starts to fall into disrepair again, invaded by more strange enemies, it's up to Mickey and his magical paint brush and thinner to save the day all over again.

In the time between the two games, the remaining blots ran away to join the circus.

And so, it was with a wheeze of despair that our purse greeted the announcement that Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two has now joined the rapidly growing list of Wii U launch titles, begging for our hard-earned cash. Much like every upcoming Wii U game, The Power of Two on the Wii U has a few unique Wii U GamePad-related features to help you on your journey through the land of forgotten Disney cartoons. A quick glance down at the screen embedded in the tablet-like controller shows a detailed map of the Wasteland, with waypoints and markers to help you find your way through the different quests that make up your adventure. You'll also be able to use the GamePad's Touch Screen to access and activate the various "sketches" you collect on your adventure (random power ups which can be used to distract/attack enemies, or solve puzzles) – hopefully making it a lot easier than before to land an anvil on a distant enemy. We wasted a good many sketches by summoning them off cliffs or platforms during our adventure...

Launching on the 30th of November, alongside Nintendo's new Wii U console, Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is yet another awesome title to make your new console purchase worthwhile. But don't worry if you're not planning on investing in a Wii U yet, as the game is also releasing on the Wii, Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 a week earlier, on the 23rd of November. You'll also be able to pick up an entirely different 3DS game on the same day – Epic Mickey: Power of Illusion.
