Things I've learnt today -  Mickey Mouse's full name is Mitchell Mouse and that you should never trust him anywhere within a five mile radius of your model theme park. Particularly if you have a full pot of paint standing next to it, ready to be knocked over by a clumsy little mouse that happens to be wondering around in your castle at night. Pesky rodents.

This is how the story of Disney's Epic Mickey begins, as revealed in the intro video to the game, which was released a couple of days ago:

Epic Mickey is a role-playing adventure game, that mixes classic Mario-style 2D platforming with more modern 3D exploration. Playing as the Mouse himself, and armed with the magical paintbrush, paint and paint thinner, you join him on his quest to save Wasteland from the Phantom Blot he created when he knocked the paint pot over. You're able to alter the world of the Wasteland as you see fit - and, based on your decisions, Mickey may not turn out to be such a hero after all...

Epic Mickey is due out on the Nintendo Wii very soon - in time for Christmas, in fact. Until then, we'll keep you updated with all the news of epic (Mickey, or Mitchell) proportions.
