The Sims 4: Get Together gets delayed till December

Upcoming Sims expansion gets put back a month

The Sims 4 Get Together gets delayed till December
21st October, 2015 By Ian Morris

Expansion packs for the virtual dolls house/life sim, The Sims, are as much a part of the games industry furniture now as Mario Kart and yearly Call of Duty instalments. With each iteration of the series being followed by dozens of expansions, "stuff" packs and extras - even more so in the new, digital age - The Sims has taken in everything from pets and holidays, to heading to university, to crafting an army of bajillion garden gnomes so you can enchant them into cutting your bushes for you (no, really). The latest in the long, long line of add-ons, The Sims 4: Get Together is now the horizon - although it's looking like it's going to arrive slightly later than we previously thought.

Letting your Sims clique up and form groups with like-minded Sims with similar interests, likes and dislikes, Get Together expands the traditional Sims 4 experience with brand new clubs to join, places to explore and new skills to master in the form of DJing and dancing. Set in the beautiful, picturesque world of Windenburg, each club you create can name their own unique hangout spot - whether it's the elite Upper Crusts having a private room at the local cafe or the Spin Masters having their own personal invite-only discotheque. New features also include a brand new multiplayer board game called Don't Wake The Llama, which looks to be something akin to Jenga, but with the titular creature sat on top, while more outdoorsy types can spend time leaping off the new diving rock for a quick dip in the Nature Pool.

The book club sure know how to have a WILD time.

Making it much easier for your Sims to hang out with groups of friends, it certainly sounds like an interesting new addition to the franchise - even if the old favourite Pets and Seasons expansions are noticeable by their absence at the moment. In the past we've found that our Sims have a tendency to get a little overwhelmed in social situations with large numbers of other Sims, preferring to sit and talk with just one or two people and blanking 90% of the other people at a party, so if Get Together fine tunes group social situations to seem a bit less awkward, that can hardly be a bad thing.

Apparently delayed so they can "add more polish and depth into the core of The Sims 4 Get Together" and to "make the experience even bigger, better, and cooler" the expansion pack has been set back by roughly a month from it's original planned release in early November. According to the press release, we can expect The Sims 4: Get Together to hit stores later than expected, landing in the US on the 8th December and "rolling out to the rest of the world by the end of that week" - which will most likely be the 10th, given that EA games now seem to release on Thursdays for… reasons.
