With the release of Pokemon Black & White nearly upon us (this Friday!), Nintendo have announced that they'll be offering a download of the Mythical Pokemon, Victini. You'll have to be quite quick though, as he'll only be available for a few weeks, between the 4th March and 22nd April.
Victini does that oh-so Japanese peace sign while posing for his photo.
Unlike most of the other downloadable Pokemon, which you download direct from the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and you can't change the name of, you don't actually download Victini. You download an item called the Liberty Pass, which can then be used to catch Victini - we're not sure how you use it to catch him, and at the moment, it's not clear how you can download the Liberty Pass either, but Nintendo have confirmed they'll be releasing more details upon Pokemon Black and White's launch.
Victini is known as the Victory Pokemon, and is said to bring victory to the trainer that owns it, and is thought to do so by channelling the unlimited supply of energy it seems to possess. It is also the first Pokemon to ever be both a Psychic and a Fire type, and knows the Victory Star move - a move exclusive to Victini - which not only increases his accuracy in battle, but also boosts the accuracy of all your Pokemon, making Victini a good choice for Pokemon Black & White's new triple battles when combined with a fighting Pokemon.
