The Orange Box

This collection features five games: Half-Life 2 and its continuations Episode One and Episode 2, Portal, and Team Fortress 2.

Half-Life 2 is a first-person shooter where you take on the role of scientist Gordon Freeman set in the war-torn fictional location of City 17 in a fight for survival.

Team Fortress 2 is a multi-player, team-based first-person shooter with a heavy reliance on character classes and teamwork. With nine different classes to choose from, each with different strengths and weaknesses, you're bound to find one to fit your play style.

Portal, meanwhile, is easily the best of the bunch, and is a first-person action and puzzle game in which you play as Chell - an unvoiced test subject who's challenged by an artificial intelligence by the name of GLaDOS to complete a series of challenges. With a very special way of thinking required to find your way through the levels, it's up to you to use the portal gun to teleport yourself and various objects from one place to another, as every time you fire your portals gun, you create a passage to your other portal. It's confusing to explain, but a lot easier to pick up and play - and hey, there's always the promise of cake when you're done!
