What are the different breeds in Nintendogs + Cats on the 3DS?

Nintendogs + Cats lets you choose your first puppy from a selection of nine different breeds – a different selection for each of the three versions of the game. With a total of twenty seven different breeds of dog in the game, you'll unlock the remaining dogs from the other games as you play with your puppy and StreetPass other Nintendogs + Cats owners.

All versions of the game come with the same selection of cats – you can choose between a run-of-the-mill Standard cat, a Siamese-like Oriental or a flat-faced, fluffy Longhair, each with a variety of different colour schemes.
